PCBuilder showcases PC gaming at Comic Con Africa 2025
The biggest pop culture event in South Africa
Arguably, the biggest event on the pop culture calendar for South Africa is Comic Con Africa. Taking place this year between the 24th and 27th September at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, this iteration of the event may have been the biggest and best yet. PCBuilder stood at the heart of the action, exhibiting for the first time with our own dedicated stand at the event.
Showcasing what PCBuilder does best
Drawing attention with the familiar blue and red, the PCBuilder stand attracted many of the up to 23 000 attendees who came to Comic Con Africa 2025 each day.
At the stand, these attendees could experience what PCBuilder has been offering to South African consumers for many years now: prebuilt and customisable machines which make PC ownership a breeze. Once a complicated topic to approach in South Africa, PCBuilder has continued to show that PCs can not only be cost-effective, but the ideal route for those who want to game, stream, or dive into the serious content creation that requires a powerful PC.
Attendees also got to take in the eye candy of completed PCs, packed full of premium components from some of the biggest brands in the world. When you buy a PCBuilder PC, you’re not only getting the best components, but also a completed rig built by professionals, cable managed and tested for reliability and completeness, all before it’s delivered to you.

Driving PC gaming forward
“By showcasing builds with trusted component partners like MSI, Asus, Crucial, and Patriot, we give customers confidence. They know exactly what’s inside their PC – it’s transparent, reliable, and backed by industry leaders.” says Mikhaelo Popovich, PCBuilder Senior Product Manager.
“What stood out at Comic Con was seeing our partners together, driving the same objectives. It really felt like the community and the industry were aligned in pushing PC gaming forward.”
PCBuilder also works closely with Microsoft to ship every PC with the latest version of Windows 11, as well as one month of PC Game Pass, ensuring each PCBuilder prebuild has everything you need to simply power on, and get gaming.
This approach to PCs feeds into PCBuilder’s “Game Day One” philosophy: the day you receive your PCBuilder PC is the same day you get to game on it. Building your own PC, relying on vague configurations, or even going the console route means hours or even days of assembly and updating software, and that simply isn’t the case here.
Visitors to the PCBuilder stand were able to step right up and dive into gaming without any barriers – no setup, no waiting, just instant play. This seamless experience reflected what it feels like to own a PCBuilder machine, where everything is ready to perform straight out of the box.
More than a brand
While PCBuilder is a trusted name in retail, Comic Con Africa 2025 offered a unique opportunity to connect directly with the enthusiast market. The stand gave passionate gamers and tech fans the chance to experience the brand beyond store shelves – engaging with PCBuilder not only as a product they know, but as a community and experience tailored to those who live and breathe gaming.
“Comic Con allowed us to show that PC Builder isn’t just a retail offering – it’s a brand that belongs in the gaming community alongside the most trusted names in the industry.” Popovich adds.
PCBuilder’s expanding range proves that high performance and great value can go hand in hand. Comic Con Africa 2025 was only the start – expect to see the brand at more events, bringing the same energy and experiences to fans everywhere.
